News Roundup + International Friendlies Tomorrow

Good morning all, no posts the last two days since I didn't feel there was enough news worth your time...

Let's start off with the news that Adebayor has signed a new long-term contract. No word on how long or how much the contract is, but I'm guessing it's an extra year on his original deal at 75k/week or so. Now that it's all sorted out hopefully the Togolese striker can focus on scoring goals that we desperately need. I know there's a lot of animosity toward Ade but he is an Arsenal player so we need to support him. Arsene Wenger agrees and says we need to get behind our striker.

A few loan deals have been announced for some of our youngsters. Havard Nordtveit has been loaned out to the Spanish club Salamanca. From what I've seen of him he looks a good player. It will be interesting to see what he can do in Spain.

Reading are hopeful to get a loan deal done for Kieran Gibbs. Some regular football for him can't hurt.

It's also been reported that Nacer Barazite will be loaned out to Derby. He scored that goal against Huddersfield for us in pre-season and has a weird name...Good luck to him!

So it's international friendlies tomorrow and after being included in the France squad, Samir Nasri has been injured and will take no part. Hopefully this is just a ploy on our part to keep him from playing and have him fresh for the Fulham game. No news on how long he will be out though so we'll see what Wenger has to say at his press conference.

Gael Clichy believes that France will bounce back after the major cock-up that occurred at Euro 2008. Most of the blame should be on Domenech for being a shitty manager, and who knows why he still has a job, but at least he is now smart enough to include Clichy and Sagna in the team. France takes on Sweden tomorrow.

Nothing else for today...I'll be watching England take on the Czech Republic tomorrow. It will be interesting to see who Capello names as captain...other than that I'm just hoping the rest of our players come back healthy!!
